Amirah Kassem is an artist at heart and cake is her medium. She is the best selling author of The Power of Sprinkles: A Cake Book and children’s titles The Magical Land of Birthdays series and Bake a Rainbow Cake.
The founder of FLOUR SHOUP grew up baking in Mexico with her mother, where she discovered an appreciation for fine ingredients and multi-sensory experiences. A self-taught baker and entrepreneur, her whimsical food-based installations have been featured everywhere from the Whitney Museum to the pages of VOGUE. You can find Amirah’s signature Rainbow Explosion cakes, along with other whimsical FLOUR SHOP creations, at the New York City and Los Angeles locations.
Amirah has also moved beyond the cake with bakeware, perishables and dinnerware collection with Williams-Sonoma, a complete home collection with Pottery Barn Kids & Teen, and footwear and apparel with Vans. Amirah is also a judge on Disney+’s food competition series, Foodtastic, as well as the pastry chef for the 2022 Met Gala
